The Good Ole' Days

Today, I was just causally going through my pictures on The Facebook and I came across this beauty....

And I just need to say that I miss my friends. They know this but I want everyone to know. Sometimes I just need to be 100% me and they are the only ones who know that side of me. I have all this crazy inside of me and it wants out. I like my friends because they don't judge me for all my crazy, they join in. This is Lindsey and I from a few years ago at our old elementary school. It was fun.

And I know I just posted this in The List. I can do that.

Home!

I got to go home! For a quick minute! Or weekend...

My dear friend, Robbie whom I adore so much, asked me late Friday if I would want to go home. Yes. Just yes. We left early Saturday morning and just got back to Knoxville a few hours ago. Also, another dear friend, Michelle, tagged along!

It was a wonderful weekend away and could not have come at a better time. I was ready to leave Knox for a little while, it was making me crazy. Well, crazier than normal.

I made a new road trip CD and we jammed all the way home. To be honest, I'm still jamming right now. I just can't stop. It's like I'm in jam- mode. Or like I have jam- brain right now. Jam is running through my veins. I can't stop. Won't stop. Clear eyes. Full heart. Just jam. This is the CD....

Fruit- Napper

I don't really have any other choice, we all know that food in college is awesome but at the same time is gives you that 'ohh what have i done?!?!' feeling. While I do enjoy the occasional late night eat-everything-in-sight raid with my roomies, sometime all I really want is a nice juicy piece of fruit. I can't help it. A girl wants what a girl wants, you know? How is it that fruit is so good all of the time? I think it has this thing called "you can't just have one bite cause it's irresistibly delicious" nectar. It's a new discovery, or it should be anyways.

I steal fruit from the cafeteria.

Everyday.

Lots of it.

I hoard apples.

And bananas.

Never sorry.

Hiking With Friends

Today, I made new friends! And this is them...

Aren't we all pretty?
We belong to a campus ministry called RUF and all of
the freshman girls went hiking nearby! There were a
lot of more of us but I like this picture.
Representing Williamson County like real stunnas do.
Get it.

I am so thankful for them and I cannot wait for the many adventures to come with them!!!

Also, I should add, this wasn't just hiking, this was mountain climbing.
It was a very steep 2 mile climb up and then some serious rock
climbing at the end but we made it! And it was super foggy at
the top because it was about to rain, and it did. But it was more
than wonderful  and I love being outdoors.

19 And Counting, But Not Kids

Friends, family, coworkers, employers, brothers, sisters, acquaintances, friends' siblings, I finally made it all the way to 19. What a time it has been. So many wonderful things have happened in the past few months I wouldn't even know where to begin. Celebrating my birthday away from my parents for the first time was indeed very different, but in a good way. I  was worried that nothing was going to happen, no one would know I turned another year older, or worst of all, no one would care. I'm ashamed for even thinking that because this has hands down been one of the best birthdays ever. I got to make my own traditions and it was a great time to see how many friends I have made and how much they care about me.

My wonderful, crazy roommates surprised me with a trip to the nail salon and a bite to eat! It was a great escape from this crazy campus and I just love them so much!

My dear brother, Garrett, was going to take me out to dinner tonight but unfortunately he had to cancel due to 'excessive amounts of homework'. I was a little bummed but I knew that just meant more time for me to study Anthropology! Yippie!! Not too long after this news came a new friend I made this year via Garrett, her name is Robbie, asked to take me out to ice cream and I was delighted to go! As Robbie, her friend, and I were walking to get ice cream I turned my head and what-do-ya-know! There is Garrett with all my friends throwing me a surprise party at a local cereal bar!! They pulled one over on me, but if we're being honest, I'm a little bit in love with surprises. They always make it a better day.

To say the least, it was eventful and it was nice to see people care about me as selfish as that probable sounds. We had a grand ole time and I cannot wait for the next time we hang out!

What a lovely reminder

The Magic Rain From Heaven

On Sunday, I talked to my mom on the phone for two hours. Boy, do I miss her. It was quite a lovely conversation and it cheered me up very much. I was having 'one of those' days. Ya know what I mean?

On a different note, a side note, my all time favorite days are when it just rains all day long. It's gloomy outside and I get to where my rain boots and rain jacket and just bask in all it's glory. I haven't had one of those in a while.

Back to Sunday- well really Monday now. The Lord just knew that I had 'one of those' days on Sunday and He had to have known gloomy rainy days are my favorite, and do you know what He did? He gave me the gloomiest, rainiest day ever on Monday. It was wonderful. Heaven-sent for sure.

I was walking to my especially gloomy 8am class Monday and the first thing I did was look up and smile and say 'thank you daddy'. I knew that He had done this just for me, to show me He hears me and He cares for me. It was a nice reminder because it's so easy to get carried away from His presence and all the beauty He has created for us.

On a completely different note yet again, tomorrow is my birthday!! Not only my birthday, but my golden birthday. I turn 19 on the 19th! "Whoa" is probably what you're thinking and you are very right to do so. It is going to be a magical time. All day. Magic. Birthday magic. Tomorrow. All. Day. Long. I'm ready.

Today Is One Of Those Days

TODAY IS ONE OF THOSE DAYS

those days where you just can't get anything done

period.

I'm cooped up inside stuck doing homework

but mainly watching the Awkward marathon...

If you have never seen Awkward, you need to go watch all of it right now. There are only 2 seasons!!

I walked to church this morning, I WALKED TO CHURCH THIS MORNING.

Just in case you missed it the first time, it was so wonderful and gave me a new view of being independent and choosing to follow the Lord. It may just be me, but I think they go well together.

Very Well Indeed.

Crossroads

Tonight my wonderful big brother was so kind to drive me to a weekly worship service for college students (that's me now!!) at a local church. I have heard many wonderful things about this service, Crossroads. To say the least, I was excited to finally witness this 8th wonder. And I have to say, today was definitely a good day for it, I needed to be reminded of His love and BOOM, BANG there it was. Hitting me square in the face. Hard. This is what hit me so hard in my delicate face...

"Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven- for she loved much. But he who is forgiven little, loves little."                       Luke 7:47

Holy-moly-me-oh-my! I know you're blown away to but come back for a little bit and be stunned later. The 'she' this passage is referring to is a prostitute. She cleaned the feet of her Savior with her tears and wiped them away with her hair. She sinned immorally yet she has been forgiven. We have all been forgiven. I'm still letting that soak in. I think it's going to take a while.

Just for giggles :)

Exodus 14:14

"Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again. The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent"
                                                             Exodus 14:13-14

I just love this. It has been my favorite verse for the past few months and I have really tried to take this to heart. If we can be silent and sit with Him, He will guide us where we need to go. We don't always have to say something. Sometimes silence is the best of all.

Home Away From Home

So maybe some time has passes since I've posted last, so maybe I got a little busy. But I tell you, do not fear for I am back in business! This is such a new and exciting time in my life- going to college and all. No big deal. Big Deal.

I have been here for three weeks and The University of Tennessee Knoxville and I have loved every single minute of it. Seriously, I could not ask for anything better. I was unsure about coming here, I didn't think it was for me but the Lord changed my heart and now I know this is exactly where I am supposed to be. What a guy He is, so wonderful to me.

I am undecided in my major but I thinking of going with either nutrition or business. Maybe even both?? All I know is I'm going to have as much fun as possible before I have to buckle down in my studies. I'm just taking the basic cool-kid-college-courses but they aren't terrible so far and I am counting that as a huge blessing!

We're Back!!

Well it has been some time since I have posted but let's talk about that later. Swiftly moving on, yesterday was not only my eldest brothers birthday but my best friends birthday as well! It was definitely a party day to say the least. She is finally 18! I have been waiting for this day for so long. It was a wonderful day. Picture this: brownies. With extra extra chocolate chips. And frosting. Chocolate frosting. With M&M's on top. Amazing, right? Well that didn't happen. Just kidding I made them for her and they were a hit! She loved them, along with everyone else fortunate enough to sneak a bite. That night her parents treated us to P.F. changs completed with lettuce wraps, sweet and sour chicken, and 6 layer chocolate cake. Who doesn't love a 6 layer cake? There were celebrations all day from all around. I got so into making the brownies I went ahead and planned what I am going to make all my other friends for their birthdays. Next up is peanut butter nutella cookies. I'll let you know how they turn out.

Here is a picture of the birthday girl!
